They Made It!

Well, most of them at least. We’re still waiting on the Adams’ family as Jack had a flight cancelled on the way back from football camp. But, everyone else made it and Jack and Sherri will be here tomorrow!

The group eats a traditional guatemalan breakfast – eggs, beans, plantains, coffee.

The group got through the airport quickly, and we headed directly to Zone 3 where we were greeted by fireworks (always a shock), and breakfast prepared by women in the community. The group met the families with whom we’ll be working this week, and then went on a walking tour of the surrounding community.

After some rest, lunch, and orientation, the team headed out to Zone 1 of the city to see the historical center, learn a little bit about Guatemalan history, see the market, walk along 6a Avenida, and eat dinner at Cafe Saul.

Tomorrow the work begins!
