We were blessed with a wonderful team of 16 people from Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. If this group is representative of Raleigh in general, then my guess is it’s a great place to live. They didn’t quite bring the “ya’ll” out in me by the end of the week, but they’ve primed me well for our Tulsa team.
We got a lot of work done this week (a full house, in fact), we shared jokes (which are super hard to translate), we shared pain (which doesn’t need to be translated), we learned to see beauty in really hard places, and we learned to see people that everyone else is trying to ignore.
The group ranged from 22 years old to 83 years old, and included two Vida Joven Guatemala veterans – Brady and Parker Greene!
I’m thankful for this group – what they taught me, what they learned this week, how they loved our Young Life staff and friends in Zone 3, and how they were willing to receive love from all of us.
Cheers to a great week!
