Today was a long, hard work day – anyone who knows anything about pouring the foundation for a second story knows that you can’t have a “cold joint.” Meaning, you have to lay the whole slab at once. For us, that meant we mixed a lot of concrete today. And I mean a lot. We pulled groups from other sites to get the massive project done, and they got it done. See the progression below.
It was beautiful to see the group come together, work hard, and get the task done. It was even more beautiful to see Estela’s response to what is the foundation of a new phase in her family’s life. All in one day!
Tomorrow will be a bit less labor intensive – back to just single batches of concrete, not 10 batches at once! Looking forward to what tomorrow holds!
