Wednesday was a tough day. It was hot. It was super sunny. It was a Wednesday. Although the group was really tired, they still worked diligently. Whenever given the option to stop or do “one more,” they always chose to continue. That speaks a lot about these kids and their willingness to serve.
Thursday we woke up with new energy and motivation to finish all our concrete projects. As the groups finished in their houses, they converged on one final project. The big group poured a floor in under two hours! It was fun to see the kids working together and feeding off one another’s energy.
After a delicious dinner of the famous Guatemalan fried chicken, we headed back to El Recuerdo for Young Life club.
Tomorrow is our last day in the communities – the week is going too fast!
